Words of Gratitude

As a Reedley College student, I am most thankful for the opportunity to pursue my education in an environment that is full of supportive faculty and staff. I am thankful for the instructors that I have had, the counselors who have counseled me, and the tutors who have tutored me. I always feel secure and honored in pursuing my education at Reedley College. In my personal life, I am most thankful for my parents and family because they have always been a pillar of support in my life. I am thankful for all the opportunities that I have been given in my life and for the experiences that are helping me grow as a person. I am thankful for all the things that I will continue to be experiencing and learning in my life.

I am forever grateful for my family and the life we are blessed to live.

I am thankful for the vaccine because I'm able to hold my niece and nephew again and give them millions of kisses after a year of isolation due to the ongoing pandemic.

-Iman A. (RWC Tutor)

I am grateful for a lot of things, but I think the thing that I am most grateful for is being able to be close to the people that I love. My mom and my husband are the people that I always turn to, they are people that I am able to talk to about anything. They are people that I know I could tell anything to without fear of judgement. They have always helped me through a lot of the things that I have struggled with without a complaint. They are the people that make me feel at home and at peace.

-Kaitlin G. (RC Student and RWC Tutor)

I am thankful for a well-made cup of tea and a good book. I am grateful for rain and a change of season (c'mon rain!) and I am most grateful for my family and friends who fill my life with hope, joy, and lots of adventure.

-Deborah Lyons (RC English Instructor)

I am thankful for the connections I have been able to make with others online during the pandemic. The spread of Covid 19 has brought a lot of distress and negativity upon us and despite all this, we have still been able to form connections and provide support for each other during these difficult times. I have met many wonderful people while tutoring online who have shared with me their stories and have uplifted my spirits by showing me their dedication to work hard and persevere in their English courses and in life in general.

-Annie B. (RWC Tutor)

I am grateful for each day as it gives me the opportunity to explore a new day--begin a new journey; be better; cherish moments with my children and husband; embrace the beauty and challenges of the day; and hopefully laugh loudly with abandon.

-Carey Karle (RC English Instructor)

I'm thankful for my sisters. Without them, I would be lost and probably even more depressed. I'm also thankful for my health, especially in a time when many people may be suffering from the symptoms of COVID-19.

-Monte B. (RWC Tutor)

I'm thankful for modern medicine, delicious food, and that so many of my family and friends have supported and do support me, especially in tough times.

-Jim Mulligan (RC Tutorial Coordinator)

I am thankful for having a loving wife and a wonderful daughter who support me in everything I do. Thankful that my family and I are healthy especially in this difficult time!

-Jesus Hernandez (RC Counselor)

I am grateful for my family, especially, my two children, who inspire me to be the best version of myself. Every morning, I wake up thankful for all the opportunities I have available to me and because I am able to live my life to the fullest. I'm also thankful for the challenges I've faced in my life because they have taught me to be resilient!

-Anali J. (RWC Tutor)
