No matter who we are, we all face the same challenges in college at one point in our lives. College is never easy, the work is hard and there are too many assignments, but it’s okay to ask for help, whether it’s a tutor, a friend, a counselor, or a teacher. I know it's hard to ask for help, I am the same way to this day, but I refuse to let others down, to let myself down. It’s better to feel a glimmer of sunshine than the dark’s cold embrace, you cannot let yourself flood your mind with negative thoughts because college is full of challenges, its hard and tiring, but you must remember to take a deep breath and a small break, and that’s okay. Believe in yourself, you cannot give up, you cannot lose hope.

My name is Eli Felipe. Here at Reedley College, I'm a Communications major and the Hiking Club President. It's my third year here, and I'm hoping it's my last. I plan to write in every Paper Jam, and quoting lines from movies and tv shows, lines I hope you can relate to.

I struggle everyday, whether it’s from my personal life or college life. There are times when I feel stuck like I can't do anything or think straight. I failed and dropped classes before, but I always learn from my mistakes, and I go to tutoring so I don't have to drop or fail again. There is always someone I can talk to, at my best and darkest moments, and I know I can count on them, and I hope you have a person like that too.
