Christmas Cheer by Audrey Bergen

Red berries

compliment

green leaves.

Festive

wreathes

hang on

doors.

Loved ones

gather

around

the fire.

Laughter

is shared,

and traditions

are passed

down.

Christmas

draws near,

and hearts

fill with cheer.

Christmas Haikus

Red, green, and blue lights

glow from outside my window

as I fall asleep.

It is cold outside,

All I want to do is sleep

and drink cups of tea.

There is no snow on

Christmas in California.

it is hot hot hot.

Mulled cider tonight

mixed with the smell of pine trees

lovely time of year.

Angel on the tree,

wreath on the door, family

in town. God help me.

Cut. Fold. Wrap. Tape. Tie.

Open presents on Christmas.

Watch happy faces.
